Museum collecting socks for veterans

Louis Stokes Cleveland Veterans Administration Medical Center needs socks for permanently hospitalized veterans.

Donations of men’s white socks in sizes 10 to 13 are needed. They will be collected during “A McKinley Christmas” from noon to 4 p.m. Nov. 29 at McKinley Memorial Museum & Library and McKinley Birthplace Home, both at 40 S. Main St.

Visitors may ride the Millcreek Metroparks trolley and visit McKinley Birthplace Home and meet 7-year-old William and his family at his birth home in 1850. William McKinley Sr. will greet you at the front door. Santa Claus will receive visitors on the second floor. Mike Wilson portrays President McKinley.
