Jared to open Saturday

Staff report

BOARDMAN

Jared The Galleria of Jewelry will open its first location in the township at 10 a.m. Saturday.

The newest Jared location at the Fashion Square Plaza, 7415 Market St., will offer a variety of brands from the popular Pandora collection to Tolkowsky.

“We are always looking to bring the Jared experience into new communities and believe Fashion Square offers a great opportunity for us to achieve this in Boardman,” Frank Cirillo said in a statement.

The more than 4,500-square-foot location will have a refreshment area, a play area for children, a full-service repair center and a design and service center.

The Vindicator reported a holiday opening for Jared in August. Construction on the store began in the summer after the demolition of the former Family Christian Book Store in Fashion Square, which has since moved to The Shops at Boardman Park. V&R Construction LLC, a general contractor wholly owned by Cocca Development Ltd. of Boardman, which also owns the plaza, worked on the project, which carried a price tag of more than $1 million, according to Vindicator files.

The construction included fixing up the parking lot, closing two entrances to the lot for just one entrance in the center, installing landscape islands and adding an underground drainage system and sidewalk.

The first 200 guests to the store will receive a complimentary gift valued at more than $100. Guests also can enter to win a pair of 1-carat Leo Diamond earrings valued at close to $4,000.

The nearest Jared location to Boardman is in Canton. Jared, a division of Sterling Jewelers Inc., is headquartered in Akron.
