Youngstown records 16th homicide for 2014 early today
YOUNGSTOWN
Police are treating the death of a man found on a North Side sidewalk this morning as a homicide.
Chief of Detectives Capt. Brad Blackburn said the man, who investigators have not yet identified, was shot.
Police were called to the area about 5 a.m. after someone called 911 to report a body on the sidewalk on Guadalupe Avenue.
The man’s death is the city’s 16th homicide of the year and second in two days. A man was found shot to death about 4 a.m. Sunday at a private club on East Midlothian Boulevard.
In 2013, the city recorded 20 homicides.
