Kathy Cook, president of St. Joseph Warren Hospital, was recently named a fellow of the American College of Healthcare Executives.

The FACHE credential signifies board certification in health care management and FACHE Fellow status — the highest standard of professional development. Only 7,500 health care executives have this distinction.

“We are very proud of her and privileged to have her on our leadership team,” said Robert Shroder, senior vice president of Mercy Health and president and chief executive officer of Humility of Mary Health Partners.

Cook, former chief nursing officer of St. Elizabeth Youngstown Hospital, was named president of St. Joseph Warren Hospital in November 2013. She began her career as a nursing student at the St. Elizabeth School of Nursing and progressed through the management ranks as an assistant head nurse, head nurse, director, senior director and executive director of nursing.

In addition to her nursing diploma, Cook has a nursing degree from Youngstown State University and a master’s degree in nursing administration from Gannon University, Erie, Pa.
