Bill Cosby set for Packard in mid-March

Staff report

Bill Cosby will return to the Mahoning Valley for a show at Packard Music Hall in Warren on March 13 at 8 p.m.

Tickets for the comedy legend’s performance go on sale at 10 a.m. Friday at the Packard box office, ticketmaster.com, all Ticketmaster outlets, and by phone at 800-745-3000. Prices are $42, $55 and $65 (plus fees).

The concert will be Cosby’s second in the Mahoning Valley in two years. His last appearance was in February of 2013 at Powers Auditorium in Youngstown.

Cosby also appeared at the Canfield Fair in 2004, and at Powers Auditorium in May of 2002.

One of America’s most beloved comedians, Cosby’s humor transcends age, gender and cultural barriers. He has captivated generations of fans with his routines, albums and best-selling books, including “Fatherhood,” “Time Flies” and his current bestseller, “I Didn’t Ask to Be Born, (But I’m Glad I Was.)”

Perhaps Cosby’s greatest contribution is “The Cosby Show.” The sitcom (1984-1992, NBC) about a close-knit, upper-class black family dominated the No. 1 spot for years, earning nearly unanimous critical praise.

Cosby’s latest special, “Bill Cosby 77,” was taped on his 77th birthday in San Francisco in July and will air on Netflix on Nov. 28.
