Jared the Galleria of Jewelry celebrates its grand opening and ribbon-cutting ceremony at Fashion Square, 7415 Market St., at 10 a.m. Saturday.
Guests can enter for a chance to win a pair of 1-carat total weight Leo Diamond earrings valued at nearly $4,000. The first 200 guests will receive a complimentary gift valued at more than $100.
MCCTC cosmetology students offer services
CANFIELD
The cosmetology students at the Mahoning County Career and Technical Center, 7300 N. Palmyra Road, are open to the public for business. They are open Wednesdays and Thursdays from 8:30 to 10 a.m. Appointments are recommended.
The cosmetology students offer haircuts, styling, hair color, manicures and hair removal. They also have introduced gel manicures this year. All services are performed by the students under the supervision of their instructor. Prices starting at $5.
NiSource donates $50K to LCCTC
NEW CASTLE, PA.
NiSource Midstream Services donated $50,000 to the Lawrence County Career and Technical Center, 750 Phelps Way, and the Lawrence County School to Work Program at a luncheon last week at the LCCTC. The company donated $40,000 to the center and $10,000 to the work program.
The donations are part of an effort to aid in the funding of career awareness and gas-industry-related information for young adults in the region.
NiSource Midstream operates the Pennant Hickory Bend processing plant and gathering system in Springfield Township.
Details planned for small-business event
SHARON, PA.
The Small Business Saturday Marketplace will take place at the James E. Winner Jr. Arts & Culture Center, 98 E. State St., from noon to 8 p.m. Nov. 29.
The event will feature local artists, food vendors and independent businesses. Vendors must register by Friday. The registration fee is $20.
Employee-friendly Youngstown on list
YOUNGSTOWN
Global Trade magazine listed Youngstown among the Top 10 employee-friendly places in the U.S. The ranking was announced when Global Trade published its third annual “Best Cities for Global Trade” report.
Employee-friendly is among the 10 “needs-oriented and relevant categories” that exporters consider when making location decisions.
The other nine most employee-friendly cities are Bozeman, Mont.; Flagstaff, Ariz.; Knoxville, Tenn.; Little Rock, Ark.; Odessa, Texas; Sacramento, Calif.; San Diego, Calif.; Tulsa, Okla.; and Windsor, Conn. They were not ranked in any particular order.
