RETIREMENT

GREENVILLE, PA.

Navy Master Chief Petty Officer Michael A. Dulaney, a 1988 graduate of Greenville High School, recently retired after 26 years of service.

Dulaney, an electrician’s mate, was most recently assigned to the USS Momsen as the maintenance and material management coordinator.

During his career, Dulaney served onboard numerous ships including USS Towers, USS St. Louis, and USS Curts stationed in Japan, and the USS Ingraham stationed in Everett, Wash.

At shore, he served at Naval Magazine Indian Island at Port Hadlock, Wash., as an assistant port engineer for Commander Naval Surface Group Pacific Northwest, and as the Lead EM Detailer at Navy Personnel Command in Millington, Tenn.

His decorations include the Navy and Marine Corps Commendation and Achievement Medal, and various unit and service awards.

Dulaney is married to the former Andrea Lensch of Everett. He has a stepson attending Everett Community College studying criminal justice. He also has an associate degree with dual concentrations in electro-mechanical engineering technology and counseling and applied psychology.

DEPLOYED

GREENVILLE, PA.

Navy Petty Officer 2nd Class Ryan Murray, a 2009 graduate of Greenville High School, is serving in the Arabian Gulf aboard USS Makin Island as an interior communications electrician.

He is on his second deployment aboard the amphibious assault ship.

Murray’s father, Richard Murray, lives in Wylie, Texas. His mother, Mary Jo Sevacko, is from Greenville.

The Makin Island Amphibious Ready Group and 11th Marine Expeditionary Unit are deployed in support of maritime security operations and theater security cooperation efforts in the U.S. 5th Fleet area of responsibility.

VIENNA

Maj. William Hrinko Jr., deputy commander for cadets of Civil Air Patrol’s Youngstown Air Reserve Station Composite Squadron, recently presented the Wright Brothers Award and promotion to Cadet Staff Sgt. Emma Kanning of Hubbard and Jonathan Meals of North Lima.

The Wright Brothers Award is the first milestone in the cadet program and honors aviation pioneers Orville and Wilbur Wright, who were the first to create an aircraft capable of controlled-powered flight.

Air Force: Airman Jordan A. Burns (Poland Seminary High School, ’14), son of Libby M. and Donald C. Burns of Poland; Airman Dalton J. Taylor (Boardman High School, ’13), son of Debra S. and Joseph G. Taylor of Boardman.

Army: Specialist Deanna L. Jordan (Chaney High School, ’08, Youngstown State University, ’13), daughter of Patricia Billet-Huffman and stepdaughter of Jason Huffman of Youngstown.

VETERANS

YOUNGSTOWN

American Legion Post 472, 323 E. Indianola Ave., donated $3,300 to the Mesothelioma Applied Research Foundation. Mary Hesdorffer, director of the foundation with headquarters in Virginia, accepted the check.
