Spirituality Day
WARREN
The Benedictine Sisters of Queen of Heaven Monastery will host a Spirituality Day from 1 to 4:30 p.m. Dec. 13 at Sts. Peter and Paul Parish Center, 80 Belvedere Ave. NE., with the Rev. Christiaan Kappes as speaker.
He is professor of liturgy and patristics at Sts. Cyril and Methodius Byzantine Catholic Seminary in Pittsburgh. His topic will explain the relationship of the Theotokos (Mother of God) to the Holy Eucharist.
There will be time for reflection, questions, refreshments and an opportunity to receive the Mystery (Sacrament) of Reconciliation. Participants may pray vespers with the sisters.
Music celebration
YOUNGSTOWN
The Interdenominational Ministerial Alliance of Youngstown & Vicinity will host its third annual Night of Music Celebration at 6:30 p.m. Friday at Elizabeth Baptist Church, 1210 Himrod Ave.
Area law-enforcement agencies and first-responders have been invited to attend the event to be recognized for their commitment to public service.
Program participants will be the Rev. Kenneth Simon, New Beginnings Outreach Ministry Praise Team, Good Hope Lutheran Choir, Greater Friendship Baptist Church’s Voices of Praise, Spanish Evangelical Church Choir and the Elizabeth Missionary Baptist Mass Choir.
The event is free and open to the public. Elder Cynthia Wright Palmer is program chairwoman.
Organ dedication
YOUNGSTOWN
St. Patrick Church, 1420 Oak Hill Ave., will host a special concert at 2 p.m. Nov. 23 to mark the dedication of an 86-year-old organ donated to the parish last year by the congregation of John Knox Presbyterian Church, which closed last autumn. The Votteler-Holtkamp-Sparling organ will be played by Barbara Masters, former music director at St. Patrick and now music director at Visitation Catholic Church, Elmhurst, Ill.; Kris Harper, music director at the church; and Kelen Haynes, organist at New Bethel Baptist Church.

First Friday Club

John Allen, associate editor of the Boston Globe and senior Vatican analyst for CNN, will speak on “The Papacy of Francis” when the First Friday Club of Greater Youngstown meets Dec. 4 at Antone’s Banquet Centre, 8578 Market St.

Fellowship will be at 6:30 p.m. with ministry at 7.
