A summary of recent criminal activity in Hubbard, Liberty and Girard:
HUBBARD
Nov. 6
Citation: A traffic stop on East Liberty Street resulted in a citation charging 30-year-old John D. Perl of Lincoln Avenue, Hubbard, with driving under suspension.
Nov. 7
Menacing: A Jackson Street man said his 15-year-old daughter has received a series of online derogatory and threatening messages.
Nov. 8
Recovered property: Six credit cards were found in a parking lot in the 400 block of North Main Street.
Nov. 9
Attempted burglary: Someone tried to enter a residence in the 600 block of Wendemere Drive before the homeowner evidently saw the intruder cutting a rear-patio door screen and trying to break the window with what appeared to be a hammer. The would-be burglar fled.
Indecency: A 22-year-old Hubbard woman complained that another woman without permission had placed an inappropriate photograph of the accuser on Facebook.
Nov. 10
Arrest: Officers responded to a possibly intoxicated person on North Main Street, where they charged John A. Chiodo III, 38, of Elmwood Drive, Hubbard, with disorderly conduct while intoxicated.
Nov. 12
Attempted burglary: A woman in the 100 block of Wrenfield Drive found a storm door open, apparently after someone had tried to break in.
LIBERTY
Nov. 6
Theft: A Colonial Drive man reported at least six personal checks stolen from his home.
Nov. 7
Arrest: Officers were dispatched to the Mahoning County jail to pick up Jeremy M. Voytko of Beechwood Drive, Boardman. The 20-year-old Voytko was wanted on a township warrant.
Identity theft: An Ohio Trail man learned that someone had falsified his personal information and gained access to his phone-service account.
Arrest: Boardman police relinquished custody of 26-year-old Tabitha S. Lee of East Boston Avenue, Youngstown, who was wanted on a warrant accusing her of failing to appear in court to face charges of theft, child endangering and obstructing official business.
Nov. 9
Theft: A woman reportedly stole two $80 mobile phones from Radio Shack in the Liberty Plaza.
Theft: A Girard woman reported her wallet stolen while at a Motor Inn Drive motel.
Nov. 10
Arrest: Youngstown police in the 2700 block of Belmont Avenue handed 39-year-old Sloan U. Matthews of West Market Street, Mercer, Pa., to Liberty authorities. He was wanted on a Trumbull County warrant.
Arrest: The Ohio State Highway Patrol turned 22-year-old Jason M. Pinkard over to township authorities. Pinkard, of East Judson Avenue, Youngstown, was wanted on a Girard Municipal Court warrant.
Stolen property: Police conducted a welfare check on behalf of a motorist near Interstate 80 and state Route 711 before charging Frednisha J. Jackson, 21, of North Meridian Road, Youngstown, with one felony count of receiving stolen property. The 1998 Pontiac Bonneville Jackson was in had been stolen from a Canfield man, a report said.
Menacing: A Mansell Drive woman said her grandson had been threatened while in school.
Citation: Police answered a disturbance call at a Belmont Avenue bank before citing 24-year-old Cristine M. Glass of Utah Avenue, Liberty, on a disorderly-conduct charge after she claimed another woman had struck her face. Witnesses, however, disputed her account, saying that Glass was the aggressor and had instigated the situation, a report showed.
Nov. 11
Robbery/drugs: Authorities responding to a shoplifting situation at Walmart, 200 Goldie Road, charged Larry W. Harris Jr., 40, of state Route 172, Lisbon, with robbery as well as possession of drug paraphernalia and drug-abuse instruments after a loss-prevention official alleged having been assaulted while trying to detain him. Also, two syringes, a suspected crack-cocaine pipe and a charred piece of aluminum foil were in Harris’ car, police said.
GIRARD
Nov. 7
Criminal damaging: Someone intentionally cut two vehicle wires while the car was parked at a North Davis Street business.
Trespassing: Police received a complaint that a former tenant who had been evicted from a mobile-home park in the 600 block of Trumbull Avenue was on the property without permission.
Nov. 8
Child endangerment: Police assisted firefighters with a fire in the 100 block of South Davis Street and learned that three children, 3, 5 and 9, had apparently poured gasoline on the fire. A neighbor reported that earlier he contacted the youngsters’ father, who he alleged had left the children unsupervised.
Nov. 9
Theft: A woman noticed two computer tablets and $58 missing from her South Elruth Court apartment.
Nov. 10
Criminal mischief: Someone in the 40 block of Stambaugh Street did minor damage to a truck, apparently in an effort to break in and steal various tools.
Menacing: A North Avenue woman reported her former boyfriend threatened to harm her during a dispute regarding their infant son.
Menacing: An employee with a U.S. Route 422 gas station told police a man with whom she’s unfamiliar has been calling her workplace and asking for her by name, causing the accuser to feel threatened.
Theft: An Iowa Avenue woman discovered a couch and two other pieces of furniture missing while in the process of moving.
Menacing: An East Liberty Street woman told officers her former boyfriend continually drove past and parked near her residence, causing the accuser to fear for her safety.
Criminal mischief: An East Main Street woman saw that someone had used a key to damage her car’s hood. The damage estimate was $500.
Theft: A $350 deer feeder was removed from a yard in the 400 block of Marshall Road.
Criminal mischief: A vehicle in the 400 block of Parkview Drive was found with an estimated $2,500 in damage from a key.
Nov. 11
Unauthorized use of a vehicle: An East Kline Street man said his wife drove his 1999 Pontiac Sunfire without permission.
