CLASSES
The Rayen School Class of 1959 will meet for its monthly luncheon at noon Wednesday at Stonebridge Grille and Tavern, 1497 Boardman-Canfield Road, Boardman. All classmates are welcome. The class meets the third Wednesday each month.

Western Reserve Amateur Radio Club will have a monthly meeting Tuesday at Davidson’s Restaurant, 3636 Canfield Road, Canfield. Dinner will be at 6 p.m., and the meeting will begin at 7. Youngstown Chapter of International Torch Clubs will have a dinner-discussion meeting Nov. 17 in Kilcawley Center, the Ohio & Ohio Buffet Room, on the campus of Youngstown State University. John K. Fockler Jr. will speak on “Echoes of the Old West in Science Fiction.” A social begins at 5:30 with dinner at 6 and the lecture at 7. Attending only the lecture is free of charge. GROUPS
That Quilt Group I Belong To will meet Tuesday at the Fair Park Rotary Building in Canfield. The building will be open from 1 to 5 p.m. for those wishing to work on charity quilts or other projects. The meeting will begin at 6:30 p.m. Ginger Mangie will teach a “make and take” project, which will be a sewn and embellished snow lady. Holborn Herb Growers Guild will meet at 7 p.m. Tuesday at the Colonial Inn on the Canfield Fairgrounds. Yvonne Ford will speak and show how to make a memory wreath for a keepsake or gift. Take a green wreath, glue gun, ribbon, bow, wire, berries, dried flowers, herbs and miniatures or whatever else you want to use. There will be election of officers. Mahoning County Chapter of the Ohio Genealogical Society will have a regular meeting at 7 p.m. Monday at St. Charles Church Ministry Building, 7325 Westview Drive, Boardman. Poland Historical Society will meet at 6:30 p.m. Tuesday at the Little Red Schoolhouse, at the intersection of Route 224 and Struthers Road in Poland Township. Local historians Ted Heineman and Dave Smith will share facts and photos never before seen in Poland of the former Poland Seminary High School stadium that was named Baird Mitchell Field in memory of the local star athlete and war hero. The program, open to the public, will begin at 7:30.
World War II Heritage Society meeting on Monday will feature former Ohio Sen. Harry Meshel.
