Tickets available Monday for Traficant tribute

YOUNGSTOWN —Free tickets will be available Monday for a Nov. 30 public celebration at the DeYor Performing Arts Center’s Edward W. Powers Auditorium of the life and accomplishments of former U.S. Rep. James A. Traficant Jr.

The DeYor box office will open at 10 a.m. Monday with tickets given away on a first-come, first-serve basis. There is a limit of four tickets per person.

The doors will open at 12:30 p.m. on Nov. 30 for the celebration that will begin at 2 p.m. that day. Guests arriving prior to the program will be able to view Traficant memorabilia and sign tribute pages for his family.

More details, including guests and speakers, will be announced soon, according to a statement from Traficant’s family.

Traficant died Sept. 27, four days after a tractor he was driving on his family farm in Greenford fell on top of him, making him unable to breathe. He was 73.
