PITTSBURGH
A federal judge has sentenced a 53-year-old Grove City, Pa., man to one day in U.S. marshals’ custody after he was convicted of possessing computer graphics files depicting prepubescent girls engaged in sexual intercourse with adult males.
U.S. District Court Judge Mark R. Hornak imposed the sentence on Joseph L. Breyer of Edgewood Avenue.
The day in U.S. marshals’ custody will be followed by 12 years of supervised release, with the first 14 months of it under electronically monitored house arrest.
The judge granted a defense request to depart from the usual 63- to 78-month prison term range for this offense because of Breyer’s very low IQ, the U.S. attorney said Monday.
The case was investigated by the U.S. Secret Service and the Homeland Security Investigations division of U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement.
