YOUNGSTOWN

Three people were arraigned in municipal court Monday, after police found significant amounts of suspected marijuana while being arrested Friday in two separate traffic stops.

Amber Parker, 21, no address given, of Youngstown, and Tandre Jackson, 22, of Oak Park Drive, were arraigned before Visiting Judge Dino Prassinos. Parker was arraigned on a charged of tampering with evidence, and Jackson was arraigned on charges of trafficking in drugs, possession of drugs and obstruction of official business.

Bond was set at 10 percent of $15,000 for Parker and $9,500 for Jackson.

Also arraigned was Nicole A. Myers, 30, of Mosier Road in Girard, on a felony charge of possession of drugs. She was released from the Mahoning County jail after posting a bond of 10 percent of $5,000.

Jackson and Parker were each arrested about 4:05 p.m. Friday after an officer tried to pull over a car on the East Side. Jackson drove through a red light at McGuffey and Jacobs roads, reports said. The car Jackson was driving is registered to Parker.

The car pulled into a drive in the 3000 block of McGuffey Road and both Parker and Jackson got out, despite officers telling them to stay in the car. Jackson said he was at his home, but he ran away through several backyards before he came to a fence in the 3200 block of McGuffey Road and gave himself up, reports said.

When they returned, reports said, Parker was standing next to a vacant house and was told she would be given a citation for allowing Jackson to use her car even though he has a suspended driver’s license, and that the car would be towed.

A police dog was called in to help search the car and officers found plastic bags with drug residue and a marijuana cigarette. The dog also searched the outside of the house Parker was standing at, and found 17 individual doses of suspected marijuana and three doses of suspected crack cocaine under a shrub, reports said.

About 6:10 p.m. on the South Side, police pulled over a car at Florida Avenue and Market Street. Myers was found to be driving a car with license plates registered to another vehicle.

Reports said Myers told police the car was her boyfriend’s and he had just bought it. She could provide no paperwork and when police did a records check they found Myers does not have a driver’s license and she was wanted in Trumbull County on a warrant.

Police found a pill in one of her pockets and a straw that was cut to be used for snorting, reports said. In the center console police found two large bags of suspected marijuana, another straw and a marijuana pipe. A third bag of suspected marijuana was found in her purse, reports said.
