George W. Bush launches book about his father

COLLEGE STATION, Texas (AP) — Former President George W. Bush today formally launched his personal biography of his father at a joint appearance with George H.W. Bush at the father's Texas A&M university presidential library.

The younger Bush took the stage today to tell several hundred invited guests at the George H.W. Bush Presidential Library Center about his book "41: A Portrait of My Father."

The elder Bush and former first lady Barbara Bush attended the infrequent joint appearance by the two former presidents.

The book offers a glimpse of the 90-year-old Bush's life through the eyes of his oldest son.

Son Bush says up front his account is not objective, describing it in the author's note as a "love story" about an extraordinary man he's "blessed to call my dad."
