Mill Creek MetroParks Foundation wants long-term park director
YOUNGSTOWN — The Mill Creek MetroParks Foundation urged the park’s board of commissioners at a meeting tonight to select an executive director who will stay in the position for a long time, and who has relevant experience for the job.
“We need a director who is in it for the long haul,” said Jamie Jamison, the foundation’s vice president. “You have the ability to make a change, and hire someone with experience.”
The foundation would like to see an executive director committed to staying in the position for some time because there have been three directors and one interim director in the last seven years, Jamison said.
“This has to change,” she said.
Dennis Miller, the current executive director, announced his resignation to the board in September. He will be leaving at year’s end, after two years in the position, to take over as golf director at the Lake Club in Poland.
