Several local locations of national chains are offering free or discounted services for veterans and military service members Tuesday for Veterans Day, as well as other days.

Applebee’s

From open to close in all Applebee’s locations Nov. 11, veterans and active-duty military can choose from a free signature “Thank You Meal” menu. Must present valid veteran’s form of identification or be in uniform; offer is for dine-in only. Applebee’s is encouraging all their other guests to show gratitude for veterans by leaving a message for current and former military members at ThankYouMovement.com.

Bob Evans

All Bob Evans restaurants will serve free all-you-can-eat hotcakes to veterans and active-duty military members who present a valid military ID. The offer only includes the original hotcakes breakfast; the offer is not available for specialty hotcakes. Eligible identification includes a US Uniformed Services (current or retired) Identification Card, a current Leave and Earnings Statement (LES), or a Veterans’ organization card (American Legion or VFW, for example). Guests wearing a military uniform on Veterans Day also are eligible.

Carrabba’s Italian Grill

All active and retired veterans can receive a free appetizer at participating locations.

Chili’s

Veterans and active-duty military receive a free meal from a special Veterans Day menu. Must show proof of military service.

Denny’s

All active, inactive and retired military personnel with a valid military ID will receive a free Build Your Own Grand Slam between 9 a.m. and noon.

Food Distribution

Youngstown Disabled Veterans will be distributing food to veterans from noon to 2 p.m. Nov. 20 at 110 Westchester Drive in Austintown. Veterans must show a military ID or a DD214. For information, call 330-506-2693.

Friendly’s

Friendly’s is treating veterans and active military, with a valid military ID or honorable-discharge card, to a free breakfast, lunch or dinner Nov. 11.

Great Clips

Customers to any Great Clips salon Nov. 11 will receive a free haircut card to give to a veteran, after first purchasing a service; there will be a limit of one card per customer. The free-haircut cards are then redeemable by veterans at any Great Clips location from Nov. 11 through Dec. 31, with proof of military service. The promotion applies to veterans only. Any veteran who visits Great Clips on Nov. 11 receives either a free haircut that day or a free-haircut card to redeem by Dec. 31. After Nov. 11, veterans must have a free-haircut card to get the free haircut.

Golden Corral

At all of its restaurants nationwide, Golden Corral will serve free dinner buffets with beverage from 5 to 9 p.m. Nov. 17 to any person who is serving or has served in a United States Military branch, including the National Guard and Reserves. Identification is not required. The restaurant also will be accepting donations that day that will benefit Disabled American Veterans.

Handel’s Ice Cream

Participating Handel’s Homemade Ice Cream and Yogurt locations will provide free single-scoop ice cream cones to all veterans and military personnel with a valid military ID. No purchase is required.

Hollywood Gaming at Mahoning Valley Race Course

Veterans and active military members will be honored for their service Nov. 11 with discounts and special offers. All day, anyone presenting a military ID card or proof of veteran status will receive free valet parking, discounts at the Rodeo Drive Gift Shop and in the Food Court, and specials in Skybox, Hollywood Gaming’s restaurant/sports bar, and in the food outlets in the racetrack grandstand area. Hollywood Gaming will also be honoring veterans with special displays on its video-projection screens throughout the facility.

Longhorn Steakhouse

All Longhorn Steakhouse locations will offer a free “Texas Tonion” appetizer and a nonalcoholic beverage of choice to active-duty military and military veterans with proof of military service Nov. 11.

O’Charley’s

O’Charley’s is offering a free $9.99 entree to veterans and military personnel when they show their uniforms or military I.D.

Olive Garden

On Nov. 11, Olive Garden restaurants will offer a free entree from a special menu to active-duty military and military veterans with proof of military service. The special menu features seven of Olive Garden’s most-popular items.

Outback Steakhouse

Military personnel and veterans get a free Bloomin’ Onion and a beverage. Must have valid identification. Plus, veterans get 15 percent off all meals through the end of the year.

PANERA BREAD

All veterans and military service members can receive a free You-Pick-Two at any Mahoning Valley Panera Bread by wearing his or her uniform or by showing military I.D. or discharge papers.

Red Lobster

Military personnel and veterans will receive a complimentary appetizer. Must have valid identification.

Starbucks

Veterans, active-duty military and their spouses get a free tall brewed coffee at participating U.S. company-owned stores on Veterans Day.

Texas Roadhouse

Select from a free special veterans lunch menu including a beverage and sides.

TGI Fridays

Veterans and active-duty military service members are invited to have lunch on T.G.I Friday’s this Veterans Day from 11 a.m. until 2 p.m.

Travel Centers of America

On Veterans Day, all CDL drivers who are veterans eat free at participating full-service restaurants with proof of service. Must present valid ID.
