A summary of recent criminal activity in Hubbard, Liberty and Girard:
HUBBARD
Oct. 28
Arrest: A traffic stop on South Main Street resulted in the arrest of 56-year-old Dwight Armour of Ravine Drive, Liberty, who was wanted on a Campbell warrant.
Theft: A Youngstown woman reported two pairs of pants stolen while at a West Liberty Street laundry facility.
Oct. 29
Recovered property: An Ohio identification card was found near Hubbard Community Pool, 250 Hall Ave.
Burglary: A Hubbard boy, 17, along with 20-year-old Lawrence R. Minotti of East Liberty Street, Girard, faced burglary charges after a woman returned from work and reported having found them in her West Park Avenue apartment without permission.
Oct. 30
Burglary: To a residence in the 3400 block of Creed Avenue, possibly via a rear sliding-glass door. Several vehicle titles, money and a living will were among the items taken.
Breaking and entering: Someone broke into a foreclosed home in the 60 block of Westview Avenue and removed from the basement about $1,000 worth of copper plumbing.
Summons: Liberty police were to issue a summons to a 37-year-old Hubbard woman charging her with driving under suspension.
Nov. 2
Identity fraud: A Parish Street woman learned that someone used her name without consent to apply for a job at a Niles sporting-goods store.
Nov. 3
False alarms: Police responded to a possible fight in the 600 block of West Park Avenue and reported that a man had made several unfounded accusations against a fellow tenant.
Nov. 5
Arrest: Brad Bertuzzi, 30, of Lilac Place, Warren, was taken into custody at a West Liberty Street residence. He was wanted on a Niles warrant charging domestic violence.
Nov. 6
Harassment: An East Liberty Street woman said her estranged husband has sent and made unwanted calls, emails and text messages, including implied threats.

Nov. 1
Arrest: Police at the Mahoning County jail arrested 40-year-old Anthony McDowell of Carlotta Avenue, Youngstown, on an outstanding township warrant.
Theft by deception: A worker for Advance Auto Parts, 3179 Belmont Ave., alleged a 51-year-old Youngstown man has committed a series of thefts by falsely portraying himself as an employee or a consultant. An internal investigation revealed three such purchases totaling roughly $340, a police report stated.
Drugs: A traffic stop in the 3000 block of Belmont Avenue led to the arrest of 21-year-old Kassandra M. Ivinskas on charges of trafficking in drugs and possession of drug paraphernalia. Ivinskas, of Roosevelt Drive, Liberty, had a device commonly used to grind marijuana, as well as a bottle with no label containing 50 tablets of Tramadol, a drug usually used to treat moderate to severe pain, a report showed.
Vandalism: A Belmont Avenue shopping center’s maintenance manager reported eight rooftop air-conditioning units had extensive damage, including seven that had their interior pipes and other parts removed. The damage was estimated at more than $115,500.
Assault: Marcus V. Kennon, 40, no address listed, faced charges of assault on a police officer, criminal trespassing and resisting arrest after authorities responded to a suspicious person near a business off state Route 304. Officers had to use a stun gun to bring Kennon under control after he had fled on foot, then struck an officer’s chest and kicked him in the knee area before being apprehended, they alleged.
Drugs: Officers responded to a vehicular accident near Tibbetts-Wick Road, where they charged 20-year-old Paul J. Whippo with possession of dangerous drugs, drug paraphernalia and marijuana after alleging Whippo, of Tibbetts-Wick, Girard, had a sandwich bag containing suspected marijuana, a digital scale, papers commonly used to roll marijuana and a bag of Xanex pills. Whippo also was charged with operating a vehicle impaired.
Arrests: A traffic stop on state Route 193 resulted in the arrest of 28-year-old Cassandra M. Fricker of Lora Avenue, Youngstown, on a charge of obstructing official business, along with a citation charging 35-year-old James A. Shimmel, same address, with driving under suspension. Fricker, who was wanted on a felony Girard Municipal Court warrant charging two counts of possession of dangerous drugs, also provided false personal information to police, they alleged.
Nov. 2
Arrest: Tangela L. McIntosh of Plazaview Avenue, Youngstown, was taken into custody after police had pulled her car over near Logan Way. The 39-year-old McIntosh was wanted on multiple Youngstown Municipal Court warrants accusing her of failing to appear in court.
Arrests: Officers answered a disturbance call at Walmart, 200 Goldie Road, where they charged D’Angelo M. Bevly, 19, of Sampson Road, Liberty, and Jordan L. Matthews, 19, of Akron, with disorderly conduct. Bevly and Matthews yelled racial slurs and profanities at police and refused several times to calm down, they said.
Nov. 3
Arrest: Police were dispatched to the Mahoning County jail to pick up 23-year-old Derrick L. Stennis Jr. of Roosevelt Drive, Liberty, who was wanted on a warrant charging failure to appear in court.
Nov. 4
Arrest: Officers took into custody 31-year-old Joel F. Lopez Jr. of Logangate Road, Liberty. He was wanted on a Girard Municipal Court warrant.
Fraud: A Scott Lane man found unauthorized charges to his checking account, apparently after someone had paid two bills and the accuser had to pay a charge for insufficient funds.
Stolen property: A license plate on a 1993 Honda vehicle in a ditch near Mansell Drive was found to have been stolen in East Palestine.
Nov. 5
Arrest: Struthers police relinquished custody of 65-year-old Norma J. Esposito to township authorities. Esposito, of Roxbury Street, Youngstown, was wanted on a Liberty warrant accusing her of failing to appear in court on a theft charge.
Assault: A counselor with Belmont Pines Hospital, 615 Church Hill-Hubbard Road, alleged a 15-year-old girl had punched him multiple times in the head, resulting in swelling, bruising and a small cut near his eye.
Theft: A man told officers someone withdrew an undisclosed sum of money from a Belmont Avenue restaurant’s business account and used the funds for personal expenses.
Drugs: Alexander M. Lopez, 29, of East Liberty Street, Hubbard, faced a felony heroin-possession charge and one misdemeanor count of possession of drug-abuse instruments during a traffic stop near Logan Way. Lopez, who also was wanted on a warrant, had a piece of a folded package with a white powder he admitted was heroin; also, a package of razor blades, a syringe and a measuring cup with drug residue were found, police said.
Domestic violence: Authorities charged 20-year-old Malcom A. Carter of Logan Way, Liberty, with domestic violence, obstructing official business and resisting arrest after his girlfriend alleged that during an all-day argument, Carter had thrown a hot pizza and other food items at her. He also was combative with police and refused to cooperate, a report said. In addition, authorities arrested Taylor A. Moore, 22, of Liberty, who was wanted on a warrant.
Nov. 6
Assault: A Townsend Avenue man told authorities that when a passenger got out of his vehicle stopped at a light near Logan Way, a Youngstown woman, 31, deliberately tried to strike the passenger with the woman’s minivan.
Identity theft: A Holly Drive woman learned that a fraudulent income-tax form had been filed in her name.

Nov. 3
Criminal damaging: Someone in the 1100 block of North Highland Avenue placed a large quantity of sugar in a vehicle’s gas tank, resulting in $1,230 worth of damage.
Theft: A woman reported prescription medications stolen from her home in the 300 block of East Prospect Street.
Nov. 4
Criminal mischief: An Illinois Avenue couple discovered four tires on their two vehicles had been slashed.
Fraud: A Washington Avenue woman found out that her credit-card information had been used without authorization to make two fraudulent purchases in Michigan totaling about $425.
Nov. 5
Theft: An East Howard Street man reported a $130 Sony PlayStation game system and related accessories stolen.
Nov. 6
Attempted breaking and entering: Someone tried to pry open a garage window to a home in the 800 block of Shannon Road and did minor damage to the frame.
Fraud: A Shannon Road man told police a caller claiming he had won a $5.5 million sweepstakes drawing informed the accuser he needed to first buy and send a $295 cash card.
Identity fraud: A Park Avenue woman reported having received a letter Oct. 30 from the Ohio Department of Taxation stating someone without permission had used her Social Security number to file an income-tax return.
Nov. 7
Recovered property: A purse was found in a West Broadway Avenue store’s trash can.
