New leadership at Huntington

YOUNGSTOWN

Huntington Bank executive William C. “Bill” Shivers will take on leadership of the company’s presence in the Mahoning Valley effective mid-November.

Current Huntington Mahoning Valley executive Frank Hierro is retiring from the company. Shivers will continue to serve as the lead executive for Huntington in Akron-Canton and the surrounding areas.

Business classes

YOUNGSTOWN

Youngstown Neighborhood Development Corp. and The Ohio State University Extension in Mahoning County will present a series of free business classes geared toward starting food-and-farm-based businesses in Youngstown.

Classes will take place at the YNDC facility, 822 Billingsgate Ave., with the first one Monday.

Ribbon-cutting for Rapid Care

The Youngstown/Warren Regional Chamber will have a ribbon-cutting ceremony for 910 Rapid Care LLC, 910 Boardman-Canfield Road, at 2 p.m. Friday .

The health care facility is open daily from 9 a.m. to 10 p.m.

Howard Hanna joins Coats for Kids

CLEVELAND

Howard Hanna Real Estate Services joins forces with Coats for Kids in 2014 for the 17th-consecutive year. Each year, Coats for Kids ensures that children and families throughout Northeast Ohio have coats during the cold winter.

The campaign began Monday and runs until Dec. 15 with every Howard Hanna office throughout Ohio as a collection site for gently worn or new coats.

Free hot drinks on Light Up Night

NEW CASTLE, PA.

A number of downtown New Castle businesses will offer free hot drinks Thursday to coincide with the New Castle Light Up Night and parade.

Participating businesses include: Lorelei’s Dancewear, Status Event Planning, Melva’s Deja Vous, Lovelight Boutique, All in the Nutshell, Michele Goodman’s Studio, the New Castle Library and Shipping Depot.

The U.S. Department of Labor reported that America’s manufacturing sector added 15,000 jobs in October.

AT&T says it will buy Mexico’s Iusacell for $1.8B

NEW YORK

AT&T is buying Mexican wireless company Iusacell for $1.8 billion and plans to grow in Mexico.

The Dallas company said Friday that Iusacell has 8.6 million subscribers under the Iusacell and Unefsn brand names. AT&T had 116.6 million subscribers as of June 30.

AT&T values the deal at $2.5 billion when debt is included.
