Dog rescued from East Side roof after 3 days
Staff report
YOUNGSTOWN
Dozens gathered outside 303 South Jackson St. at about 10:30 a.m. Saturday to watch as Youngstown firefighters, police and the Mahoning County dog warden rescued a dog that had been stuck on the roof for three days.
Neighbors called to report a Rottweiler had escaped from a hole in the attic of a three-story home on South Jackson Street the past three days. Christopher Gonzalez, 20, who lives across the street from 303 S. Jackson Street residence said he saw the dog stuck a few days ago.
“It sounded like they took the call as a joke at first,” Gonzalez said. “I called a last time this morning since that dog seems like it’s really struggling, and finally everybody’s here.”
