CAMPBELL
City police arrested two men after they fled from officers who saw them throw something out a car window.
Jabraill J. Garner, 23, of Youngstown, and Vincenzo J. Daltorio, 22, of Boardman are charged with felony tampering with evidence and misdemeanor possession of drugs and drug paraphernalia.
Garner also was cited for several traffic violations, including reckless operation on streets, public or private property.
A police report says an officer saw a Camaro drive around a car at a stop sign at Coitsville Road and Wilson Avenue at 1:17 p.m. Thursday. The officer pursued the Camaro, which continued passing other vehicles along the road, until it stopped on Haseltine Avenue where the officer saw the item thrown out.
The officer approached the car and smelled marijuana, the report states. The officer handcuffed Garner and searched him, finding $1,665 cash, and handcuffed Daltorio, finding $334.
Garner told police the item thrown out of the car, which was identified as suspected marijuana, was Daltorio’s. Daltorio declined to talk to police without having an attorney present.
