UPDATE | Hotel California liquor license hearing ends
YOUNGSTOWN — Both sides rested late this morning for the liquor hearing for Hotel California in Austintown.
Attorneys will file written statements next week.
Sebastian Rucci, owner of Hotel California, was not called as a witness
Earlier today, Darren Crivelli, Austintown's zoning inspector, was called as a witness.
Crivelli talked about the zoning board's approval of a digital billboard for the hotel known for its faux palm trees. During that meeting, Rucci told the board about how they would open the hotel with or without liquor. The transcript of these minutes was done by Crivelli.
Crivelli said he had a lengthy conversation with Rucci in late July or early August about a number of issues dealing with the hotel.
"In my opinion, [Rucci] really is the architect of the Hotel California concept."
