Cops: Man held after teller wasn’t fooled by fake $20s

KITTANNING, Pa. (AP) — State police say a western Pennsylvania man has been charged with passing some counterfeit $20 bills at a yard sale run by the wrong woman — a local bank teller.

Trooper Terry Geibel says the teller is trained to know the look and feel of real money.

The (Kittanning) Leader-Times reports 40-year-old Gregory Douglas, of Kittanning, has been charged with forgery and theft by deception. He remained jailed today on some previous bad check and other charges, and doesn’t have an attorney listed in court records.

Amy Miller, the teller at Citizens Bank in Kittanning, tells the newspaper the bills weren’t printed on “money paper. Compared to the other twenties in my bag, it was really white.”

The trooper says the money was printed on resume paper.
