Utility pole catches fire in Struthers

STRUTHERS — A telephone pole outside City Hall at 6 Elm St. caught fire about 11 p.m. Tuesday. A fire dispatcher said the fire was caused by a jumper cable that split open. The dispatcher reported the fire was contained by 3 a.m. today and the fire did not spread beyond the pole.

Ohio Edison crews were on the scene today to reinforce the cables on the pole.
