Sateri closing 2 homes, displacing workers, residents

Sateri Homes Inc., a provider for senior home care, day care, and independent living services, is closing two of its operations on U.S. Route 224 in Boardman.

Felix Savon, the owner, said he will be closing Sateri Homes locations at 102 Boardman-Canfield Road, and at 920 Boardman-Canfield Road, for financial reasons.

“I just can’t continue doing it,” Savon said, adding that the business hasn’t been profitable for at least 10 years — losing about $400,000 a year.

The two locations consisted of 30 residents and 25 to 30 employees, who were notified on Monday, he said.

Savon said the company is working to find other facilities for its clients, but that is ultimately each client’s decision.

The two locations for Sateri Homes will close after all the transfers have been completed, he said.
