Students present violence-reducing ideas to city officials


YOUNGSTOWN — Students from the Community Initiative to Reduce Violence program presented ideas today to reduce violence in their schools to Mayor John A. McNally and Police Chief Robin Lees at the City Hall.

Students from Youngstown City Schools, Youngstown Christian School, Summit Academy, and Academy of Urban Scholars participated in a conference in October where they developed their ideas, Guy Burney, CIRV coordniator, said this afternoon.

CIRV a partnership of law enforcement, social service agencies, and the community to offer individuals a circle of support enabling them to choose a non-violent path in life.
