Tickets for the boys Division III soccer semifinal between South Range High School and Mansfield Christian High School will be on sale in the South Range High School office between the hours of 8 a.m and 2 p.m today and Wednesday. The game will be played at Wadsworth High School on Wednesday at 7 p.m. All tickets are $8.
Poland football tickets go on sale Wednesday

Tickets for the Poland at Louisville game will be available starting Wednesday at the Poland athletic office. Fans can get them from 8 a.m to 2 p.m on Wednesday and Thursday or 8 a.m to noon on Friday. Tickets can also be purchased at Trolio’s T-Shirts Wednesday from 10 a.m to 5 p.m, Thursday from 10 a.m to 7 p.m and Friday from 10 a.m to noon. Pre-sale tickets are $8. Tickets are $9 at the gate.

The Springfield athletic department will be selling pre-sale tickets for the upcoming Division VI playoff game at Loudonville High School. Tickets will be available in the Athletic Office during school hours on Wednesday and Thursday, Wednesday 5 to 6 p.m and during school lunches on Friday. All pre-sale tickets are $8.

The Austintown Fitch playoff football game against Wadsworth will be held at Fitch High School on Saturday. Kick-off is at 7 p.m. Tickets can be purchased at Fitch High School on Thursday, at the South Circle ticket booth from 5-7:30 p.m., and Thursday and Friday during all lunches. Pre-sale tickets are also available at Aardvark and Select Sportswear. All tickets are $8 pre-sale and $9 at the game.

Three Penguins earn Horizon League honors

Youngstown State senior Brittany Tenis was named All-Horizon League First-Team while sophomore Kathy Baquero earned second-team honors, and Marissa Martin was selected to the league’s All-Freshman Team. The All-Horizon League teams were selected by a vote of the league’s head coaches. Tenis, a midfielder from Flint, Mich., ranks tied for second on the team with three goals scored and had two assists for eight total points. Baquero, a forward from Miami, Fla., leads the team with five goals and an assists for 11 total points. Martin, a defender from Dublin started all 17 matches at defender.
YSU falls to Green Bay in women’s soccer

The Youngstown State women’s soccer team’s season concluded with a 3-1 loss to Green Bay at Santaga Stadium in the quarterfinals of the Horizon League Championship. The Penguins finish the season with an overall record of 7-9-2 while the Phoenix improve to 11-6-2 and will face top-seeded Valparaiso in the semifinals. Sophomore Kathy Baquero scored her sixth goal of the season and gave the Penguins an early 1-0 lead just 1:30 into the match. Green Bay’s Heidi Hartman knotted the match at 1-1 with her 12th goal of the season at the 39:04 mark of the first half. Green Bay took the lead just a couple minutes later on Alex Zeller’s fifth goal of the year at the 41:26 mark. YSU goalkeeper Katie Montgomery recorded eight saves in the loss.
YSU women to host Mount Union Saturday
The Youngstown State women’s basketball team will play Mount Union in an exhibition game that will be free and open to the public at 2 p.m. Doors to Beeghly Center will open at 1 p.m., and parking will be $5.
