A Youngstown man was arraigned in Niles Municipal Court on Monday, charged with felonious assault, accused of assaulting his ex-wife at her home on Salt Springs Road on Oct. 18.
Andrew Boyer, 31, of North Wendover Circle, was released from the Trumbull County jail Monday after posting $10,000 bond. He was arrested at an Austintown hotel Saturday afternoon.
His ex-wife reported that she and Boyer got into an argument in the driveway while Boyer was seated in his pickup truck with the driver’s door open.
She said Boyer grabbed her with his left arm around her neck and began backing the truck down the driveway while still holding her, which pinned her against the open door.
The woman said she struck Boyer several times, and he stopped the truck, letting her get loose. But Boyer rammed the back of her vehicle three times and fled, the woman told Weathersfield Township police.
The woman had redness on her neck and bruises on the inside of her forearm. Her vehicle had minor damage to the back, police said.
If convicted of felonious assault, Boyer could get eight years in prison.
