ELECTION UPDATE | Boardman school levy renewal passes

BOARDMAN

Boardman voters have approved a 3.9-mill, three-year renewal levy for the school district, with 61 percent of voters in favor of the renewal and 39 percent against it, according to Mahoning County Board of Elections data.

“I am grateful for the continued support of the Boardman community. Our voters recognize the hard work of our employees and the fact that we have been able to maintain a tradition of excellence,” Superintendent Frank Lazzeri said in a statement. “We will continue to be good stewards of district resources as a result of this vote of confidence from our taxpayers.”

The levy, which originally passed in 2012, will raise $3.1 million for the school district annually and costs the owner of a $100,000 home about $120 per year.
