YSU dean leaving to take job at Lake Erie College
YOUNGSTOWN — Bryan DePoy, dean of Youngstown State University’s College of Creative Arts and Communication, is leaving to become the vice president of academic affairs and chief academic affairs at Lake Erie College in Painsville, effective in January.
DePoy camed to YSU in 2009.
“We are delighted to have Dr. DePoy in this leadership position,” Lake Erie College President Michael T. Victor said in a news release. “He is an accomplished academician and administrator. Dr. DePoy has a strong record of creating an environment resulting in innovative degree programs and interdisciplinary curricula, establishing partnerships within the region and managing a college within a public university system that has a significant number of students, faculty and staff. He is a ‘builder’ and I am excited to see where we can take our programs.”
The appointment follows a national search.
Before coming to YSU, DePoy was interim dean of the College of Arts, Humanities, and Social Sciences at Southeastern Louisiana University, where he also served as assistant dean, graduate coordinator and professor. Previously, he was a member of the faculty of Delta State University.
DePoy said in the news release that he’s excited to work under Victor’s leadership.
