US Declaration of Independence is used to oppose gay marriage

To the letter writer from New Springfield on the issue of Ohio and the United States having a long way to go to end marriage discrimination: When you see the Declaration of Independence use the words rights, equality, nature, and freedom, it’s referring to the equality that humans have in the laws of nature that are given by God’s nature that we are entitled to.

The American founders knew the relationship between God and man. Man is a creation of God and must be subject to the laws of God because man is entirely a dependent being.

Whether gays and lesbians are upstanding citizens or not does not mean they have the right to break God’s law by doing what they or you or me want to do.

The gays are to be discriminated against as far as marriage, the same as murderers, robbers, rapists and child molesters, etc. These are all offenses to God. Do you want equal rights allowing rape and murder? Does man know more than God?

Our justice system is founded on the Ten Commandments. They are displayed in the Library of Congress, Hallway of the Supreme Court building, Chamber of Congress, and the Attorney General’s office. Just as we uphold the law of stealing and child molesting, we uphold marriage between one man and one woman. In Matthew 19: 4, 5 the Bible passages are quite clear including Romans 1:18 and 32.

I might add the federal government has no right to force states to accept gay marriage. The people voted to ban gay marriage. Remember of, for, by the people. These people are being discriminated against also, wouldn’t you say? That’s why we need God’s rights for all people instead of government that doesn’t understand what the founders meant either. We should be holding our president accountable for violating the Constitution as well.

I will be urging Sens. Portman, Kirk and Murkowski not to support gay marriages and will urge all people to say “no” for the sake of God’s law and the Declaration of Independence.
