UPDATE | North Side standoff ends peacefully

YOUNGSTOWN — A man was taken to St. Elizabeth Health Center to be evaluated after police responded to a home in the 200 block of West Dennick Avenue on the North Side about 2:45 p.m. today for a report of a man inside with a gun.

Police were called originally for an argument with a gun but when they found the man inside they called for additional units and several cars responded.

Officers surrounded the home and after about a half-hour they were able to convince the man to give up. He did have a weapon with him, a police spokeswoman said.

The man was led to the ambulance in handcuffs but it is unclear if any charges were filed. His name was not released.
