Cupcake competition tickets are on sale

Early bird discount tickets are on sale for the third Annual Sweet Life Cupcake Competition. The family event will take place from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. Feb. 28, 2015, at The Georgetown on South Avenue and benefits the Friends of the Mahoning Valley Birth Center.

Through Nov. 15, the tickets are priced at $7 for adults and $1 for children (10 and under). After that, the price will rise to $9 for adults and $2 for children. At the door, standard ticket prices are adults, $12, and children, $3. Toddlers and infants under 3 years old are admitted free. The contest features professional and amateur bakers from throughout the region competing for the right to say they have the best looking and best tasting cupcakes around. A panel of three judges per category will determine the winners based on taste and presentation.

Guests get to marvel at the displays, sample cupcakes, vote for their favorites, take some home, and even create their own cupcake masterpiece at the Cupcake Creation Station.

Basket and silent auctions, a 50-50 raffle and cash bar will be available. Donations and sponsorship opportunities are being offered.
