Funeral set for 2 adults, 4 kids killed in blaze

MCKEESPORT, Pa. (AP) — A funeral is set for four children, their mother and stepgrandfather who were killed when their Pittsburgh-area home burned last month.

Fifty-five-year-old Ronald Egenlauf Sr., his 27-year-old daughter-in-law Hope Jordan, and her four children were killed when the blaze tore through their McKeesport home on Oct. 18.

Twenty-three-year-old Keith Egenlauf escaped, but is recovering from burns on 55 percent of his body. He and Jordan married last December, and she and her children — ages 2 through 7 — moved into the home where Egenlauf had lived with his father for several years.

The funeral was scheduled for today at the Hunter Edmundson-Striffler Funeral Home in McKeesport. Burial will follow at Round Hill Cemetery in nearby Elizabeth Township.

The cause of the fire remains under investigation.
