Steve and Ellen Tomko mark 50th with family dinner

Steve and Ellen Tomko of Struthers celebrated their 50th wedding anniversary Oct. 25 with a family dinner at Johnny’s Restaurant in Boardman. It was hosted by their children and their spouses.

A trip to California in the spring also is planned as part of the celebration.

Their children are Stephen (Stella) Tomko of Struthers, Dawn (Travis) Bittecuffer of Austintown and Kelly (Andy) Deniro of Boardman. The couple have three grandchildren, Stephanie and Brad Tomko and T.J. Bittecuffer.

The former Ellen Bradley and Mr. Tomko were married Oct. 31, 1964, at Fairview Baptist Church in Youngstown.

Mrs. Tomko retired in 2009 from Gorant Candies in Boardman, where she worked as an assistant manager.

Mr. Tomko retired in 2012 from Vic & Syl Corp. in Struthers, where he was district manager. He also owned and operated Vic & Syl’s Eatery in Struthers.
