Mr. and Mrs. Banks honored for 70th jubilee
Mr. and Mrs. Robert F. Banks
YOUNGSTOWN
Robert F. and Velma Banks of Youngstown were honored for their 70th wedding anniversary Oct. 25 at a party at the Saxon Club in Austintown. Their children and their spouses hosted the event.
Their children are Robert (Myrtle) Banks Jr., Dale J. (Jami) Banks and Richard L. (Lenore) Banks, all of Youngstown. The family is completed with nine grandchildren and 14 great-grandchildren.
The former Velma Snyder retired in 1974 from Packard Electric, where she worked as a harness maker. Her husband retired in 1981 from U.S. Steel Corporation, where he worked as a craneman in the open hearth. He also is a U.S. Army veteran.
The couple were married Oct. 21, 1944, at Elm Street Congregational Church and are members of St. Mark’s Lutheran Church.
