Blakemans’ 60th observed with vow renewal

COLUMBIANA

The Rev. Carl Jr. and Palma Blakeman, also known as Gene and Pam, of Columbiana, were honored for their 60th wedding anniversary Oct. 3 with a vow renewal at Heritage Baptist Church in Salem and a dinner reception at the Dutch Village Inn. A daughter, the Rev. Denise Scott, officiated at the vow renewal. The event was hosted by their children.

Their children are Steve Blakeman of Columbiana; Jim Blakeman of Sacramento, Calif.; Teresa Hippo of Austintown; the Rev. Scott of Lincoln, Calif.; and Dan Blakeman of Boardman. A son, Larry Blakeman, is deceased.

The couple have 10 grandchildren and 10 great-grandchildren.

Mrs. Blakeman is a homemaker and Mr. Blakeman retired from General Motors in Lordstown, where he worked as a millwright. He is a member of Blakeman Ministries: Come Alive, a television ministry.

The couple were married Oct. 3, 1954, at Millville Friends Church in Salem, now Heritage Baptist Church.
