In anticipation of its opening in a few weeks, Hotel California will host a free open house for the public Monday from 5 to 8 p.m.

Visitors will be able to tour the 103-room hotel and entertainment complex, which is finishing up a $4.5 million renovation. Examples of all types of rooms and suites will be open.

The hotel restaurant’s chef, Daimer Cescon, will prepare an hors d’oeuvres buffet for visitors. Vocal band Take 3 will perform in the nightclub, and dueling piano act Todd and Ed in the dining room.

“We will give visitors a look at the variety of talent that we will have and the unique cuisine,” said Dave Robich, entertainment manager.

The unique hotel is highly visible to those who drive past on state Route 46, just north of the Interstate 80 interchange. Its parking lot is lined with realistic faux palm trees and a fountain. The entertainment-centered hotel, bathed in shimmering pastel lights at night, also has a hot-tub room and three outdoor patio bars with flaming decorative lights and natural-gas fire-pits for brisk nights.

Hotel California aims to complement the new Hollywood Gaming casino and racetrack, less than a mile south of it.

“We’re going to show them the most amazing place,” said owner Sebastian Rucci. “It makes you feel like a winner when you are here. It’s an impressive place, and we want the members of the community to come in and see it.”

Rucci said the hotel portion should open by Nov. 24, when live horse racing begins at the nearby racino. He has a hearing Thursday in his effort to obtain a liquor license for the hotel.
