Coroner: Woman run over by her own car in Pa.

DILLSBURG, Pa. (AP) — Authorities in central Pennsylvania say a woman was killed when she was run over by her own car.

Police in York County said the accident happened about 8:30 p.m. Friday in Carroll Township.

Deputy Coroner Terry Myers said 62-year-old Patricia Thomas put her car into reverse and then got out of the vehicle.

Myers said that when the car began to drift backward, Thomas likely “tried to stop the car by leaning into the back of the car, and was run over by her vehicle.”

The coroner’s office said Thomas died from multiple blunt-force trauma and ruled the death accidental.
