Christian Theatre Troupe, No Plan B, will present “Long Story Short” at Grace United Methodist Church, 1725 Drexel NW, at 11 a.m. Sunday.

The presentation will focus on how the Bible fits together as a single story from God and the unique part each of us plays in that same story.

Singing Weavers

CANFIELD

The Singing Weavers, a Southern Gospel third-generation family group from Atwood, Ohio, will present a concert at 6 p.m. June 8 at Western Reserve United Methodist Church, 4580 Canfield Road (Route 62.

The concert is free; an offering will be taken.

Hymn festival

HUBBARD

First Presbyterian Church, 22 Westview Ave., will host a hymn festival, “O For a Song!,” at 3 p.m. June 8 with Simple Gifts Interfaith Choir.

A strawberry social will follow the performance.

Admission is free to the concert and social.

Blessing of riders

WARREN

Motorcyclists from the Mahoning Valley may receive a blessing for a safe riding season at 2 p.m. June 8 at Christ Episcopal Church, 2627 Atlantic St. NE.

The Rev. J. Jeffrey Baker, rector, said, “In 2012, 3,824 Ohio motorcyclists were injured and 163 died. We are doing our part to help make this riding season safe and fun by asking God’s blessing to be with the motorcyclists of the area.”

The event is free and open to all who wish to attend along with their riding partners and friends.

Groening lecture

The Bruno Groening Circle of Friends will present a free 90-minute lecture by Arlene Barkan, leader of the Youngstown and Cleveland Communities and Internet Children’s Community of North America, at 6 p.m. Thursday at Lord of Life Lutheran Church, 550 N. Broad St.

The Circle of Friends is not affiliated with the church or any other religion.

A short documentary film will be shown.

Bruno Groening (1906-59) was a German who taught about the power of faith in overcoming disease.

The Circle of Friends passes on his teachings through information lectures.

Pastor anniversary

YOUNGSTOWN

Mount Zion Baptist Church, 827 Wilson Ave., will celebrate the 24th anniversary of its pastor, the Rev. Jack W. Pettis, at 3:30 p.m. Sunday.

The Rev. Larry Scott and Valley Missionary Baptist Church of Niles will be guests.

New location

WARREN

Restoration Christian Fellowship Church has bought the former United Methodist Community Center, which was the Rebecca Williams Community Center, at 760 Main Ave. SW.

The first service will be at 11 a.m. Sunday in the sanctuary, the former gymnasium, that was converted and can seat 320 people.

The site also houses a chapel, library, fellowship hall, nursery, conference room, three classrooms and offices.

The Rev. Joseph E. Walker Jr. is pastor and co-founder with Elder Kimberly D. Walker, co-pastor.
