Youngstown

Police arrested a woman early Thursday in connection with a weekend shooting on the West Side.

Nahdia Baker, 27, of Stone Mountain, Ga., was taken into custody on a charge of attempted murder after she called police from a home in the 1500 block of Meadowbrook Avenue about 1:35 a.m.

Reports said Baker called police because she had been beaten. She had no shoes on and had a bloody nose and a black eye and was taken to St. Elizabeth Health Center. She told police only that she was at a McDonald’s restaurant on Midlothian Boulevard by herself and ran to the house on Meadowbrook to get help.

Baker was arrested after she was treated for her injuries.

Lt. Doug Bobovnyik said Baker is being charged with attempted murder in connection with a shooting at a home in the 400 block of Imperial Avenue about 12:40 a.m. Sunday. Reports said someone fired several shots a person parking a car in the drive and missed him but hit the house and the house next door.

No one was injured.

Bobovnyik would not say why Baker was arrested in the crime. She is expected to be arraigned in Municipal Court today.

Police are looking for one more person in connection with the shooting, Bobovnyik said.
