Customer appreciation day on Ohio pike

Staff report

NEW SPRINGFIELD

The Ohio Turnpike and Infrastructure Commission has teamed with Hardee’s Food Systems Inc. to host customer-appreciation days at Ohio service plazas throughout the summer.

Locally, a customer-appreciation day will be offered at the Mahoning Valley Service Plaza in New Springfield on Aug. 29.

Other customer-appreciation days are from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. Friday at Wyandot Service Plaza, Berea, Ohio; June 13, Vermilion Valley Service Plaza, Amherst, Ohio; July 11, Commodore Perry Service Plaza, Clyde, Ohio; and Aug. 1, Middle Ridge Service Plaza, Amherst, Ohio.

At the Wyandot Service Plaza only, Hardee’s will offer free samples, lunch specials and give away four free tickets to Cedar Point.

The Ohio Turnpike, AVI Food Systems, the Ohio State Highway Patrol and Sunoco will participate with children’s activities, coupons, samples and information. The patrol will have a new car on the grounds for children to sit in, and they will be able to interact with a uniformed trooper.

“These community events are a great way for us to reach out to customers directly to answer questions about E-Z Pass, provide safety information and also to provide a fun and interactive stop during their travels,” said Richard Hodges, executive director of the Ohio Turnpike and Infrastructure Commission.
