Kiwanis honors spelling bee champs

SPECIAL TO THE VINDICATOR Annabelle Day, right, grand champion of the 81st Annual Vindicator Regional Spelling Bee in March, and Morgan Smith, center, runner-up, were honored at the May 16 lunch meeting of the Downtown Kiwanis at the Downtown YMCA. Gary Winslow, Kiwanis member, presented the girls with gift cards to Barnes & Noble. Annabelle is a seventh-grader attending Willow Creek Learning Center, and Morgan is a seventh-grader attending Discovery at Kirkmere.
