Campbell man faces several charges after traffic stop

CAMPBELL — Police arrested a 35-year-old city man Wednesday afternoon on a host of charges, including obstructing official business and resisting arrest, after a traffic stop for a cracked windshield and the driver’s lack of a seat belt.

Officers stopped Jason Carnahan of Gordon Avenue about 2 p.m. on 12th Street. According to police, Carnahan immediately became enraged, then began to drive away. He eventually pulled into the police station parking lot and approached the police cruiser, yelling obscenities and ignoring requests from police.

Officers had to use force to get Carnahan into the police station and its holding room.

Carnahan is charged with disorderly conduct, obstructing official business and resisting arrest, and was also cited for multiple traffic offenses. He is set to appear in Campbell Municipal Court at 9 a.m. Tuesday.
