Youngstown police, humane agents looking for puppy killer

YOUNGSTOWN — Police found two dead puppies under an Interstate 680 overpass about 4:30 p.m. Tuesday, one of them set on fire, reports said.

An officer was flagged down in the 100 block of Ellenwood Avenue by a woman who said dead dogs are often dumped under the overpass on East Delason Avenue in garbage bags and there were other dogs underneath the bridge, reports said.

The officer looked under the overpass and found the two puppies, reports said. One of the puppies appeared to have been burned, and there was an aerosol can on top of its body, reports said.

Humane agents were called to take possession of the bodies and to begin an investigation, reports said.
