A summary of recent criminal activity in Girard, Liberty and Hubbard:

GIRARD

May 23

Harassment: An Idaho Avenue man said an employee has been harassing him regarding the worker’s paycheck.

May 24

Arrest: Joshua W. Tiller, 20, was taken into custody during a traffic stop on Church Hill Road. Tiller, of North Highland Avenue, Girard, was wanted on a city warrant.

Burglary: Took place in the 30 block of Church Hill Road through a rear door, though nothing appeared to have been stolen, and police found no signs of forced entry.

Obscenity: A West Wilson Avenue woman discovered an obscene video had been sent to a cellphone that her teenage daughter uses.

May 25

Domestic violence: Lindsay N. Brown, 28, of Trumbull Avenue, Girard, was charged with the crime after a family member alleged Brown had pushed her into a refrigerator and punched her in the back during an altercation.

May 26

Arrest: A traffic stop near U.S. Route 422 resulted in the arrest of Gary Offerdahl, 22, who listed addresses on Morris Avenue and Bell Wick Road, Hubbard. He was wanted on a Trumbull County 911 center warrant and was cited on various traffic violations.

Drug paraphernalia: A woman reported finding a syringe and a spoon in a bedroom at her Iowa Avenue home after an employee had left.

Menacing: A Church Hill Road woman reported a neighbor with whom she has ongoing problems threatened her.

Criminal mischief: Someone in the 300 block of Plymouth Avenue kicked and did $400 in damage to a garage door.

May 27

Assault: A Church Hill Road man alleged a neighbor knocked him to the ground, causing the accuser to fall into and break an end table, regarding comments the victim supposedly had made. The man had a swollen right wrist.

LIBERTY

May 22

Assault: A worker for a Belmont Avenue business alleged his employer kicked him in the lower back and buttocks, then threatened him.

Aggravated menacing: Daniel J. Bosak, 23, of Euclid Boulevard, Youngstown, faced an aggravated-menacing charge after a 16-year-old township boy alleged that during a fight and confrontation in the 10 block of Trumbull Court, Bosak pulled out and threatened him with a metal baton.

Burglary: To an apartment in the 3000 block of Green Acres Drive via a side window. Stolen was about $3,400 worth of items, including a computer and three flat-screen TVs.

Theft: A Vienna man noticed his $200 cellphone missing while at a Country Club Drive business.

Theft by deception: A Red Oaks Drive man trying to buy a used vehicle online told authorities he had sent two money grams totaling $4,030 to someone in Tuscaloosa, Ala., before checking an email account and discovering the sender reportedly had posted a vehicle different from the one he thought he was buying.

May 23

Stolen property: Authorities responded to a theft at Walmart, 200 Goldie Road, where Brygida Dytlow, 43, and Robert Rejek, 48, both of Chicago, faced felony receiving-stolen-property charges as well as misdemeanor charges of theft, complicity to theft and possession of criminal tools after about $775 worth of merchandise was stolen from the store. Also found in their van was a large assortment of computer software, electronic calculators and high-definition cameras thought to have been stolen from a Walmart in Oberlin, Ohio, police said.

Telephone scam: A Fifth Avenue man reported a caller claiming to represent Microsoft Corp. told the man’s wife that her computer had been hacked. In addition, the accuser’s daughter-in-law, of Cardinal Avenue, received a similar call, a report showed.

May 24

Arrests: A traffic stop near Gypsy Lane led to the arrests of Tracy L. Weeks, 43, of Oak Knoll Drive, Niles, and David M. Leach, 44, of Church Hill-Hubbard Road, Girard, both of whom were wanted on Niles warrants charging failure to appear in court. Weeks also was charged with obstructing official business when, authorities said, he provided an incorrect date of birth and age.

Harassment/damage: A Kris Drive woman said her former husband has sent her several unwanted text messages, and that someone damaged her car’s front windshield.

Arrest: Authorities responded to a complaint about someone in the 200 block of Goldie Road reportedly offering sexual favors for money before they arrested Lisa M. Cornell, 34, in the 3900 block of Belmont Avenue on a charge of possession of drug-abuse instruments and on several warrants. Cornell, of Elm Street, Masury, had two hypodermic syringes and a spoon with burn marks common in drug use, though she did not face any charges pertaining to sexual impropriety.

Arrest: Youngstown police in the 2700 block of Belmont Avenue relinquished custody of Keith E. Griffin of Elruth Court, Girard, to township authorities. Griffin, 43, was wanted on a probation-violation charge.

May 25

Drugs: Andre L. Duncan of Pinehurst Avenue, Youngstown, was cited on a drug-possession charge after police pulled him over near Colonial Drive and alleged the 35-year-old Duncan had a small bag of suspected marijuana.

May 26

Domestic violence/drugs: Charges were pending against a 17-year-old township boy after his mother alleged the teen had assaulted her on numerous occasions during the past few months. Also, police found two small bags of suspected marijuana in his bedroom, a report said.

Breaking and entering: Someone broke into Gypsy Quick Stop, 600 Gypsy Lane, through a side window. It was undetermined if anything was stolen, though police found a set of fingerprints on a piece of a broken window, a report showed.

HUBBARD

May 21

Burglary: To a home in the 20 block of Rebecca Avenue via a rear window, where about $5,300 worth of money and jewelry was stolen.

May 22

Recovered property: A wallet was found near a basketball court in the 400 block of Jones Street.

Menacing: A West Middlesex, Pa., woman reported her former boyfriend has been stalking her, causing the accuser to fear for her safety.

Theft: A West Park Avenue man alleged his nephew stole prescription medication from the accuser’s bedroom.

Burglary: Occurred in the 700 block of Jones Street through a side door before the homeowner discovered a broken key nearby. Nothing appeared to be missing, however.

May 23

Harassment: A Doris Drive man said his estranged wife has sent him a series of unwanted text messages.

Menacing: A worker for a West Liberty Street fast-food restaurant told officers a customer made a threatening gesture while in the drive-through.

May 26

Arrest: Girard police handed 22-year-old Gary M. Offerdahl of Bell Wick Road, Hubbard, to township authorities. He was wanted on a drug-possession warrant.
