EPA gives $400K to Lawrence County for cleanup
PITTSBURGH (AP) — The U.S. Environmental Protection Agency has awarded a total of $1 million in grants for brownfields environmental cleanup work in three western Pennsylvania counties.
The EPA says in a release today that Beaver County will get $600,000 and Lawrence County will get $400,000. The money will be used for assessments of sites with potential petroleum and hazardous waste contamination, community engagement, and cleanup planning.
The Beaver County sites are in Aliquippa, Midland Borough, and Monaca Borough. Moon Township in Allegheny County was also selected.
