A Cincinnati college student who had been missing for more than a week apparently took his own life, police said Tuesday, a day after his body was found in a vacant building next to his apartment.

Brogan Dulle, a sophomore at the University of Cincinnati, was last seen about 2 a.m. May 18. He left his apartment without his wallet or keys after telling friends he was going to look for his cellphone.

The 21-year-old’s family and friends, police, and more than 1,000 volunteers then fanned out across the city searching for him.

On Monday, police found Dulle’s body hanging in the basement of a vacant building next to the young man’s apartment after getting a report about a foul odor.
