Lawrence-Mercer event names ATHENA honorees

WEST MIDDLESEX, PA.

The second annual Lawrence-Mercer county ATHENA Award celebration took place April 22 at the Park Inn by Radisson.

The highlights were the presentations of the ATHENA Young Professional Leadership Award to Alane Jewel, owner of Alane Jewel LLC, and the ATHENA Leadership Award to Kathryn Lima, president of FARO Enterprises.

Both women are from Sharon.

Fourteen women from the counties received honors for their professional achievements, contributions to their communities and examples of leadership and mentoring the next generation of women leaders.

Presenting the awards were ATHENA co-chairs and recipients of the 2013 Leadership Award, JoAnn McBride, and 2013 Young Professional Award, Marci Radcliffe.

Each honoree was introduced by her nominator or nominators.

ATHENA Leadership Award honorees were Laura Ackley, general manager of Buhl Mansion guesthouse and Spa and Donna’s Diner and director of marketing of Tara — A Country Inn; Jennifer Bell, client services adviser at F.N.B. Wealth Management; Laura Blaire, chief operating officer/chief compliance officer, managing principal at JFS Wealth Advisors Hermitage; Renee Calleja, learning support teacher at Greenville Schools; Patty Eppinger, director of medical staff services and physical recruitment at Jameson Health System; Amy Smith, chief operating officer at Sharon Regional Health System; Kinorea Tigri, satellite facility manager at New Castle School of Trades; and Gayle Young, executive director of United Way of Lawrence County.

ATHENA Young Professional Leadership Award Honorees were Sara Campbell, owner and private music instructor at Sara’s Music Studio; Nicole Hunter, PR development specialist at Jameson Health System; Leta Jeffers, director of the Thiel Fund at Thiel College; and Cassie Nespor, curator at Youngstown State University Archives.
