Baby sitter training

Registration is open for the Safe Sitter program, sponsored by Humility of Mary Health Partners.

The two-day course teaches boys and girls, 11 to 13, basic first aid, rescue breathing, accident prevention and other child-care tips.

The cost is $28.50. Scholarships are available for those who meet financial eligibility requirements.

Classes are from 9:30 a.m. to 4 p.m. June 25 and 26 and July 23 and 24 at St. Joseph Health Center in Warren, and July 9 and 10 and Aug. 6 and 7 at St. Elizabeth Health Center in Youngstown. For information or to register, call 330-480-3070.

Host families needed

Ayusa International, a San Francisco-based nonprofit organization promoting global learning and leadership, is looking for families in and near Youngstown and Warren to host international students next school year.

Ayusa — Academic Year in the USA — works with diverse families who are interested in hosting an international student of high-school age. Host families provide three meals a day and a bedroom.

Potluck dinner

YOUNGSTOWN

Time Bank Mahoning Watershed will host a potluck dinner from 6 to 8:30 p.m. today at First Presbyterian Church, 201 Wick Ave.

Attendees may bring chili, soup, casserole dish, salad or favorite bread/grain or dessert to pass along with the required place settings.

Those who attend will learn about the service-exchange program and be able to earn bonus credits by sharing a talent, bringing a friend or introducing a group game idea.
