“MasterChef” (8 p.m., Fox): Gordon Ramsay launches another season of “MasterChef” and you know what that means: Food fight!

“Petals On the Wind” (9 p.m., Lifetime): If you loved that freakfest known as “Flowers in the Attic,” you’ll want to return for “Petals on the Wind.” It’s the sequel that leaps ahead 10 years to find siblings Cathy and Christopher Dollanganger (Rose McIver, Wyatt Nash) dealing with the forbidden lust they have for each other. Ellen Burstyn and Heather Graham also star.

‘Moonlight’ opens at playhouse

NEW CASTLE, PA.

“Moonlight and Magnolias,” directed by Paula Ferguson, will open Friday in the Annex Theatre of New Castle Playhouse, 212 E. Long Ave.

The show will run for seven performances: Friday, Saturday, Sunday and June 5, 6, 7 and 8, with Thursday through Saturday performances at 7:30 p.m. and Sunday performances at 2 p.m.

In the play, David O. Selznick, famed producer, has a problem — he’s three weeks into shooting his epic film “Gone With the Wind” but the script isn’t working. While fending off the film’s stars, gossip columnists and his own father-in-law, Selznick sends a car for famed screenwriter Ben Hecht and pulls formidable director Victor Fleming from the set of “The Wizard of Oz.” Summoning both to his office, the three men labor five days to fashion a screenplay for one of the most-successful films of all time.

Leary presents gift

DETROIT

Denis Leary, a longtime supporter of firefighters and the star of acclaimed TV show “Rescue Me,” in which he played a firefighter, was in Detroit last week to present $260,000 worth of equipment to the bankrupt city’s fire department.

The new gear was paid for by proceeds from “Burn,” a documentary film about the city’s firefighters that Leary executive-produced.
